Celebrations of French National Day in Tanzania – 14th of July 2018 [fr]
Ambassador of France to Tanzania, H.E. Frédéric Clavier, welcomed to the Residence de France the French community and Tanzanian guests to celebrate French national day on the 14th of july 2018.
This important event gathered more than 500 people: French nationals and Tanzanian personalities of the political, economic, cultural, associative and artistic scene, including numerous Francophones and Francophiles.
Commencing in the late afternoon, the get together started with the official speech of H.E. Frédéric Clavier followed by the intervention of the guest of honor, Tanzanian minister of Home Affairs Mr Kangi Lugola. The later commended the quality of the Tanzania-France bilateral relationship in a speech which will be remembered by all for its momentum and its tribute to French action in Tanzania. A dynamic speech which was furthermore given in English – but also partly in French!

“The AFD (French Development Agency) consequently has decided to double its commitments from 50 to 120 million euros per year: it is a clear testimony of our confidence in the future of this country and its remarkable potential.”
“There is room for more joint ventures and investments in this country which has a unique opportunity to become a regional hub.”
“Tanzania can be a role model in the region. Half a century of political stability has allowed this country to build itself as a Nation State, step by step and under different leaderships.”

The night followed its course with a fashion show designed uniquely for the venue. The audience was able to appreciate Tanzanian creativity with more than 20 silhouettes on the runway.

A DJ coming from France for the occasion "DJ Thow" set the tone with French and International hits, succeeding to keep our guests on the dancefloor until late in the night.
