The long history of the partnership between AFD and Aga Khan in numerous countries was highlighted and applauded by all representatives in attendance.
The non-sovereign loan of 53 M USD provided by AFD is crucial in the development of this institution which will be Tanzania’s first medical facility providing quality care in oncology and cardiology. This hospital will also be mandated to train employees of the Tanzanian public health sector. In addition, 30 outreach centers will be constructed to provide primary health care to underprivileged communities and to those who currently have difficulty accessing medical facilities today.
