The Ambassador’s Word
As during the past few years, our embassy, with the participation of all its services, its operators (Agence Française de Développement and Business France) and the educative and cultural entities under its supervision (Alliances Françaises in Dar es Salaam and in Arusha ; French School Arthur Rimbaud), will aim to develop and entertain the bilateral relation between our two countries, Tanzania and France.
Indeed, over the last few years, France and Tanzania have forged some new links.
The creation in 2015 of the Cercle Franco-Tanzanien, a friendship group which is meant to open up to civil society has generated fruitful encounters between experts, artists and friends of our two countries. Furthermore, the first meeting of the France Alumni network last October allowed past Tanzanian students and interns having spent some time in France to reaffirm their willingness to maintain and nurture their particular relationship with our country.
More and more French companies are interested in the development of Tanzania and the combination of their know-how and dynamism puts them in a position to be indispensable elements of our presence.
To underline the vitality of this Franco-Tanzanian bilateral relation, I would like to announce that our embassy will be organizing at the beginning of April 2017 the first “Semaine de la France” (French Week) in Dar es Salaam, together with all the French economic and cultural stakeholders and in close coordination with our Tanzanian partners.
Within the next few weeks, in the line up to the event, our website will provide regular information and updates on the program of this Week as well as on the conditions of participation for partner companies and organizations.
The success of the “Semaine de la France” in 2017 will be that of Franco-Tanzanian friendship.
