National Day: time to celebrate [fr]
On July 11th, we hosted a spectacular Bastille Day celebration, bringing together a vibrant mix of government officials, key partners, the business community, and the French community in Tanzania. The event was a testament to the strong and enduring ties between France and Tanzania.
We were honored by the presence of Hon. Nape Nnauye, the Minister of Information, Communication, and Information Technology of Tanzania, whose attendance underscored the importance of our bilateral relations. His speech highlighted the significant strides made between Tanzania and France, in different sectors such as healthcare, infrastructure, sanitation as well as culture and sports. He acknowledged the support of the French government and expressed optimism for future partnerships between the two countries setting the tone for a memorable evening.
The Ambassador delivered inspiring remarks, emphasizing the significance of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. He spoke passionately about the spirit of the Games, which symbolize unity, excellence, and friendship among nations. The Ambassador extended an invitation to all Tanzanians to join in the excitement and festivities, reinforcing the cultural and sporting bonds that bring our countries together. In his address, the Ambassador also highlighted the clean cooking agenda, a pivotal initiative spearheaded by the Tanzanian President and strongly supported by the French government. He praised the efforts aimed at promoting sustainable and healthy cooking practices, which are crucial for improving public health and protecting the environment. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life for all.

Guests were treated to electrifying performances by renowned Tanzanian artists Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz, who brought the house down with their energetic and captivating performances. Their music added a vibrant and dynamic element to the celebration, embodying the spirit of unity and cultural exchange.
