The French Embassy and the French Development Agency (AFD) inaugurate new offices in Dodoma [fr]

Many partners as well as government representatives including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Stergomena Tax were present at this great milestone.

These new offices marks French commitment to strengthening its ties with Tanzania. France is a major partner of Tanzania whose footprint is visible in many fields, ranging from culture through two Alliances Française, Education through the French International School Arthur Rimbaud and Development through NGOs and the AFD.

“Our new office in Dodoma is a milestone in our bilateral relations with Tanzania. It will be instrumental in fostering this promising partnership in all fields ’ said French ambassador in Tanzania Nabil Hajlaoui.

Over the 2008-2021 period, AFD has provided more than €1Bn of financing to the country. Over the past five years, its annual commitments have doubled from around 70M€ to 150M€ per year. It represents a significant commitment for AFD in regards to its total commitments of more than €5.2 Bn in Africa in 2021 !
