Debate of ideas at Alliance Française on the 27th of April 2015 : « Oil and Gas in Tanzania : Geopolitics and Development »
The Embassy of France in Tanzania organized on the 27th of April 2015 a debate of ideas that was held at Alliance Française themed « Oil and Gas in Tanzania : Geopolitics and Development ». The debate, moderated by Salvator NTOMOLA, brought together experts on the subject : Benjamin Augé, French expert and researcher; Lawrence K. Masha, former vice-minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and former Interior minister; Stéphane GAY, director of TOTAL in Tanzania; Abraham K. TEMU, from the University of Dar es Salaam and Dennis MWENDWA, president of the NGO, Natural Gas and Environmental Alliance (ONGEA).
The exchange was met with great success, with a record attendance of 150 people, the highest for any debate organized at Alliance Française. A dynamic exchange on the opportunities and the challenges of Oil and Gas exploitation in Tanzania took place between the panelists and the audience during the Q&A session that followed the discussion. The debate was concluded by a cocktail courtesy of the Embassy of France at the Véranda, the newly opened restaurant at Alliance Française.
