Promote the Kilwa region
A project to promote the Kilwa region was launched on Friday 24th, an occasion marked by the presence of the ambassadors of France, Marcel Escure and the European Union, Filberto Sebregondi.
This project, funded by both parties, is implemented by the NGO Craterre of Grenoble, the Urban Community of Rochefort en Charentes, the district and Township of Kilwa.
The project’s objective is to inventory the natural and toursitic resources of this small region to diversify and improve the standard of living of the local population.
The ruins of Kilwa are a World Heritage listed site, testimony of a Middle Ages trading civilization.
